Troubleshoot, repair, and install Instrument and Electrical Equipment up to 480volts, e.g., run conduit, pull wire, make terminations, disassemble actuators, pull breakers, change out components, control valves, etc.
Read and interpret drawings and manuals to properly install and repair equipment. Research as necessary to get the information necessary to execute tasks.
Operate machinery necessary to complete these tasks such as forklift, manlift, drill press, conduit threader, saws, test equipment, and assorted hand tools.
Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections on plant equipment.
Perform calibrations and tests on instrument loops, power circuits, and process analyzers.
Maintain the IE files: document specifications, test results, repairs made, etc.
Perform basic math.Read schematics and manuals.
Respond and attend to call-outs for maintenance.
Must be able to perform basic operations on a computer (email, scan, file, excel, word, etc.).
Critical and logical thinking to troubleshoot problems.
Must be able to receive and apply training on technical topics. Willing to continue their education.
Willing to comply with NFPA 70E, Arc Flash Safety
HSE
Promote continual improvement of safety and asset reliability through equipment, job plan, and procedure revisions. Work to improve maintenance processes and methods to reduce potential mistakes and defects. Collaborate with operations to resolve asset issues.
Review job procedures as required by the HSE management system.
Actively comply with all HSE policies that have been established at the Orange plant, e.g., Life Critical Procedures, Stop Work Policy, Splash Hood Policy, etc.
Complete computer-base training to comply with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental requirements and policies.
Prepare and comply with work permits and necessary for job scopes.
Follow all applicable safe job practices and industry best practices.
Participation in risk assessment audits (PHA, JSA, etc.) as needed.
Immediately report any unsafe conditions or behavior to the pertinent Supervisor. Attend or barricade the hazard until it is managed. Generate Safety work orders to correct identified conditions.
For each job, ensure that all applicable permits have been issued, equipment is properly locked out & tagged out & use the proper PPE & tools required.
Adhere to the “Standards for Employee Conduct”.
Actively participate in all departmental safety meetings.
Timely, comprehensive, and accurate performance of regulatory PMs and tests.
MinimumRequirements:
High school diploma or a GED required -Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred’
AND
5 years in instrumentation and electrical experience.
If an applicant does not have certification in both Instrument and Electrical, the applicant will be required to complete a training course in the non-certified skill.
